Moe Hasan (Topu)'s path to DISCIPLES induction has been anything but
smooth. Beginning in 2002, he and Rajib Rahman (Double 'R') would
connect monthly and create lyrical poetry for hours. What began as
something small-scale began to grow as moE began to grow as an artist.
What resulted can only be described as a watershed moment in the
history of music.
Buffeted by the forces of lyrical poetdom,
moE and Rajib began an experimental project limited exclusively to RAW
Hip-Hop. With the help of another Reggaeton artist, Carlito, Street
Disciples was born. After Couple of months, Rajib introduced moE to his
close friend, Fuad Al-Muqtadir, of MAYA / Kranti / Re-evolution &
Variation No.25.
Disciples 1st track was done at the end of
2003 and called "Biborno Prithibi" also known as "Time". It was
produced and composed by Fuad & Rupom (Ex-keyboardist for ZYFER).
The 2nd track, done by moE & Carlito, was called "Struggle" and is
now called "Day By Day" which was composed, produce and recorded by
Double R. Carlito is not in that song and SYD took his place. Their
last track in ZYFER studio was "Evil in my head", which was done by moE
featuring Rajib (Double R). In this song, music was also composed by
Rajib and guitar was played by Nayeem of Warfare.
After those
three songs, moE found himself waiting for nearly a year because Fuad
did not have any time to record since that time he just begun work on
his own album, Kranti. Finally one week Fuad made some time with moE
and sat down made 4 music tracks and told him to wait till he is done
with Kranti. After waiting the whole year of 2004, moE almost gave up
and lost all of the motivation for making that album. He did not have
any contact with Fuad.
Beginning of 2005, Rajib informed moE
that he was getting his own studio. That was the spark moE needed to
get back to it again and finish the album. In 2005 moE moved to Queens, New York and slowly started working on his album again at WARFARE studio which is owned by Rajib Rahman (Double R).
At
the same time, Rajib began working on another Hip-Hop album with STOIC
BLISS. Rajib tried to get all the tracks that were already done in
Zyfer studio, but Fuad deleted all of the tracks done by Carlito &
moE. The only thing DISCIPLES had was the music. One winter night, moE
just showed up to the studio with SYDNEY MORAGA (Soundwave).
In only 30 min, the track "Day by Day" was completed. Meanwhile, Carlito was in Boston, MA and couldn't come to New York for recording for personal reason. But he was fully supportive the whole time and also helped with some of the lyrics.
Slowly, Eddie (Brooklyn) and Pa Lowa (Bronx)
came thru and also joined the group and recorded many tracks. STOIC
BLISS was head of DISCIPLES at the time and finished their album and
released it thru G-Series. Many other artists came and supported
DISCIPLES and did tracks with them as guest artists. Including AC1D /
KAZI from Stoic Bliss, Zahid & Minni, specially.
Rajib
the Double R who was only suppose to be a producer in this album but he
did many songs as guest artists. This album is not just a typical
musical album. They made it happen with a lot of struggle and pain and
made the best out of it.
Now September, 2006- DISCIPLES
released their album thru G-Series under Double R production and they
are GOD emcee. They are bringing a new style to the culture. With a
background tinted in Bangladesh, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Brazil and USA, Disciples feels authenticity is their biggest muscle.
DISCIPLES guarantee that they are definitely RAP's MVP and will be the most talked about MC in the Hip-Hop game.
