Wrong. Of course, there are Hip hop bands. In fact, I've seen a lot of Hip hop bands much CLOSER to a real Hip hop sound than majority of the rappers. These bands are formed with live instrumentalists and usually an emcee and a singer (he/she might not be there as well).
Examples? Ever heard of The Roots? That's a legend out of the other examples.
