lol...i would answer yes and no,both simultaneously.
Its the respect what you got for various genres and albeit, prevailing views indicate that hiphop/RnB is prevalent among people nowadays.

Well,i listen to metal for a long time =]...prolly,been 11/12 years.I did few domestic shows as in at New year's eve at 'SM', acting as a vocalist and strummed a few strings aswell

first came onto mainstream in mid 1950s but if u question indicating a subgenre[e.g.punk rock,rap rock,alternative rock,etc] then the answer might be revolved .

just sang and strummed few notes occasionally ,as i've mentioned in the new year's eve parties at my old hood[SM].

I used to be in to metal and recentley i have been in to a lot of house and dance music.
Metal meaning mainly stuff from the 80's like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Guns & Roses. And also some recent stuff(new when i was listening to rock) like Disturbed, System of a Down, Linkin Park, etc.

Recentely its like more dance man. Cos thats what its all about. And unlike mainstream metal and mainstreama hip hop, mainstream Dance is much better than underground dance and it is improving all the time...

i started off with 80s pop.
a guy i know dropped off some tracks back when i was in class 2 or 3. i got slayer, system of a down, slipknot, pod, saliva and similar bands, and yes i was really really into metal. but then suddenly i started listenin to snoop, pac, big, and ye. then i was into the game, nas. but then i got balanced shit off and got back with metal. now im into rap and death, black, thrash (not much) metal, metalcore and some melodeath shit (european bands are good!). and i try to growl for a friends band. heh.

well there were so many pop artists i listened to wen i was a child, than in 2002 late at night i was watchin dragon ball Z and during da commercial i caught "LINKIN PARK". Found 'em pretty sick.
then came across EMINEM who influenced me to enter da hip-hop hood. So i do rap because of Eminem but i Actually follow Mike Shinoda since he was my first idol

Now i'm both rock, metal, and rap. but hip-hop's da first priority!

i also take both sides

..rap is more lyrical i.e deep poetry sh*t..it depends on mood n i prefer rappin..coz ican't sing..blah!

i respect rock... i was a rocker b4 .... but rapping suites me better...

i was a vocal in a rock band....

used to be a real rocker.. and i also did metal now and then..u know growling and stuff.....then i turned to hip hop..looong story...

yea bro, vocals chilam...n since hard rock/light metal was more over ma thing, growling n singing i kortam beshi ...drums o halka patla kortam..thought i would get involved, then i turned to hip hop
